My name is Nicole Gough. I live in Bonavista, NL and teach at Catalina Elementary School in Catalina, NL. I am curently working toward my Masters in Education - Information Technology with MUN and CBU.
I am married with a 10 1/2 month old and a 9 year old step son. Life is certainly busy but it is definitely worth it!
Why doesn't Ponyboy feel scared when the socs approach him and he threatens them with a broken bottle? How is this a dramatic change from the ponyboy we have seen up until this point?
Pony boy does not feel scared when the Socs come to him in the car because he has been through much more than a couple of Socs can do to him. He has lost two good friends and has been to a court trial because he had a suspected murder. He is failing in school. All of these things have "toughened him".
Ponyboy doesnt feel scared because hes been through alot and hes getting toffer trying to hold in the pain. He thretens them with a bottle because they were goin to beat him up, and he didnt want that to happen. I think he would of used it, if he had to.
ponyboy doesn’t feel scared when the socs come at him in their car because he has been through a lot in the past few weeks and he doesn't feel anything after he lost his two friends. This is a dramatic change from the ponyboy in the first of the book because if this was earlier in the book Pony would have ran away or got help from Two-bit and Steve. If it was earlier in the book he never would have used the bottle.
Ponyboy doesn't feel scared because to Ponyboy, there nothing else to live for , because Johnny and Dally was dead and they weren't ever coming home again, and hes never going to be able to tlak to Johnny again , and tell him everything on his mind, and to Ponyboy, the socs are jsut a big joke in life, hes not afraid to kill someone anymore , and hes not afriad of deadth, hes not afriad to die anymore, because he knows his best friend that was like a brother to him, is dead, and to Ponyboy, he wants Johnny back and he just wants everything back to normal.
I think pony boy didnt feel scared when the socs came to him in the car because hes been through alot with the socs and they were going to beat him up again so he stood up for himself and told them to leave or something bad was going to happen. He had a bottle with him and he would of used it if he had to.
Ponyboy wasn’t scared when the socs approach him because he had lost two good buddies, and he was tired of the socs coming after him for revenge for killing bob, and he wasn’t scared of them because he is more tougher then he was before.
Ponyboy does not feel scared when the socs pull up in there car because he has gone through so much and he really doesnt care anymore for the socs now that Dally and Johnny are dead. This is a diffrence between the ponyboy we saw at the beging of the story is that at the beging pony is very afraid of the socs andnow he isnt affraid of them anymore.

He lost Johnny he and Dally are always getting into fights. He has been through a ot, so he probably don't care anymore.

Pony would have really used that bottle on the socs because he knew that he wasen't afraid of the socs and they wouldn't take advantage of him anymore.
