My name is Nicole Gough. I live in Bonavista, NL and teach at Catalina Elementary School in Catalina, NL. I am curently working toward my Masters in Education - Information Technology with MUN and CBU.
I am married with a 10 1/2 month old and a 9 year old step son. Life is certainly busy but it is definitely worth it!
When Ponyboy says “ I lie to my self all the time” I think he means , Even though he knows things aren’t going to be find or things aren’t so good , he always says ”everything is going to be okay or everything is going to be fine “ , even though Ponyboy knows they aren’t . And when Ponyboy knows something and he knows its true , he lies to him self and says it isn’t true . And yes I lied to my self before, I lied to my self when my pop died, even though I knew he was gone I kept on telling myself He wasn’t gone or he was going to come back . ; Hope
When pony boy said he lies to himself all the time he means he always tries to make his and everyone elses life seem better then it actually is. Sometimes I lie to myself because it makes me feel like everything is okay in a bad situation.
When Ponyboy says “I lie to myself all the time” he means that he is living in a way that he doesn’t want to. He’s trying to be someone that he’ s not, maybe Darry and Sodapop want to be greaser’s but maybe Ponyboy just goes along with the act and isn’t really apart of it. No, I can’t really say that I lie to myself because I do what I wan’t to do. I don’t go along with other people just to do something. I like to make choices for myself instead of going along with the group.
When Ponyboy says ‘”I lie to myself all the time” I think that he means when things are not okay, and isn’t going right or anything.. He lies to himself and says “Everything’s going to be okay” or “Everything is going to be alright”. Yes, I do lie to myself a lot, because when things aren’t alright and isn’t okay, I keep saying it’s going to be okay, and it’s not a big deal, but it is a big deal, and I should just deal with it instead of just saying its going to be okay, and moving on!
I think when Pony Boy says "I lie to myself all the time ", I think it means that he is telling himself that life is going to be fine for him, and that everything is going to turn out fine. He is probably telling himself that Cherry well go out with him, even though he thinks she probably won’t because she is a Socs and Pony Boy is a greaser. Yes, I lied to myself before. Well everyone in our class is saying that we are going to win, in our music video, but it is possible that we could or we might not.
Ponyboy mean when he says, I lie to myself all the time is that when someone is hurt or sick ,he tells them there gonna be ok but he really dont no if there gonna be ok or not. Yes i did lie to myslef before, when my cat was sick i would tell myself anf my family would tell me everything will be ok and she wibt die but we really didnt no if she was gonna be ok or not.

He lies to himself to try and bend reality, he tries to make everything better by saying that something did not happen or something will never happen, but in reality he knows it will.

I think that ponyboy lies to his self becase he just dont want to face the truth he wants to get through it with out thinking everything hes done is wrong. yes i have lied to myself before i think and it was to help get me though it.
What Ponyboy means when he says, I lie to myself all the time is even when he knows things are not going to be ok he lies to make himself think everything is going to be ok. No because there is no point in lying to yourself if it is not true.

Sometimes I lie to myself about things because if you think about the bad things it will get you no where. but if you look at the positive it will get you a long way.
When ponyboy says that he lies to himself all the time I think he means that even though that something bad is going to happen like the socs jumpin him he says that everythings goint to be ok when he knows that something bad is goint to happen like he might get killed...
i think he means that when someone like Johnny was at a time of need he lied to himself saying it's going to be okay, when he killed that soc the other night he was afraid. And yes i lie to myself all the time,its a habit now,I say i'm going to study and i don't,but i always find a way to finish that later!
